In 8th match of ongoing Hero Indian Super League 2017, Mumbai City FC defeated FC Goa with 2-1 results. The soccer game was played on 25th November 2017 at Mumbai Football Arena, which is situated in Mumbai. With this victory, Mumbai’s football club improved its rank in ISL points table. Facing defeat in the game, FC Goa’s position in ISL standings declined to bottom place in the point table.
Competition between the two teams seemed quite tougher in the first of the match as no team managed to score a single goal in initial 45 minutes. Early stage of the match didn’t entertain the fans of both teams gathered in the stadium. Receiving massive support from the spectators, Mumbai’s team showcased excellent performance in the second half of the match and acquired dominance over the game.
At 59th minute, Everton Santos scored the first goal of Mumbai City FC. The game took an interesting turn at this point. Audiences in the stadium started cheering for their favourite teams. Sealing victory in the 2nd match, Mumbai’s team made a strong comeback into the league. The team faced defeat against Bengaluru FC in the opening match. Mumbai City FC is scheduled to play its next match against FC Pune City on 29th November this year. FC Goa is all set to confront with Bengaluru FC in its upcoming soccer match which is going to be played on 30th November at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium (Fatorda stadium).
